Meditation practice with a proper meditative Mindset

"What is a meditative Mindset?"

A Meditative mindset is very important in meditation practice. Meditative mindset is a particular state of mind when you feel completely calm and happy. Meditative mindset is related to the Alpha State of your body and mind. In other words, true meditation starts only in the alpha state of mind that is not always easy to attain.

alpha,beta, and theta states

In general, we operate in the Beta State (the “awake” state) in our daily life. So we should drop our operating frequency from Beta to Alpha for successful meditation practice.

Many beginners cannot maintain the alpha state (meditative mindset) from their first attempts. Of course, it is quite natural, as we do not use a meditative mind through a day. Our brain is used to be in the beta state. It changes into the Theta and then into Delta state while we are sleeping.

There are various ways to achieve meditation mindset. You may choose the most suitable one for you:

•Just sit in a quiet place, choose comfortable pose (for example, lotus) and close your eyes. Try to concentrate on your mind. Clear it of all kind of thoughts no matter negative or positive. Try to discover and feel your inner power.

•The other alternative way to maintain zen mindset is to listen to special meditations music in a lotus pose. Try to isolate yourself from the environment around you.

•Or you may find a secluded place in nature. Countryside or village would be ideal for meditation sessions. Try to focus on natural (river, spring, bird, etc.) sounds that will help you maintain alpha state.

pray and meditate

Is meditation a prayer?

Meditation and Prayer! Are they the same, or is there some difference between them? In fact, meditation and prayer are very similar in nature. Both of them require calm mind and focusing on certain thing. Actually, both of them have the ultimate target: fulfillment expected and asked from God. Both meditation and prayer are very helpful in reducing stress. Every quiet, concentrated prayer is meditation indeed.
